CFM and PSI

When we talked about air tools, we measured it at 90 PSI, but for this, the best way to measure it would be at 40 PSI. This is because spray guns don’t require many high-pressure levels to operate.

If the CFM rating of your compressor is lower than the requirement of spray guns, it doesn’t necessarily disqualify it. You can still use it but you would have to take breaks in between.

Horsepower (HP)

You can use this factor to determine which compressor size would be best for your work. But many manufacturers have deliberately overstated HP rating than what it really is.
